30 Aug Week 1: some cultural activities
The first week in Seoul has been great!
The entrance of Sejong University has this beautiful gate // Streets in the Gwangjin-gu district around Konkuk University.
The Buddhist Bongeunsa-ro Temple (AD794) in the Gangnam district. ‘Bongeunsa’ means ‘honoring the king’. Extraordinary to see these temples in the middle of the city! It has lots of nature surrounding the area, as it is situated quite up-high. Though there is silence, and people seem to de-stress.
Ceilings in meditation rooms in Bongeunsa-ro // The white paper lanterns placed in main areas of the site
Street food stands in Gwangjin-gu. We see a lot of squid in all kinds of ways! // Rainy day at Konkuk University
Found this spot during my cheap-fruit-hunt // People in Seoul are classy and so stylish!
Yesterday I went to Itaewon with a few girls and figured there were lots of cool places to see and to get food. We also found a supermarket in which I finally found food to store in the dormitory. Overall, I feel good! The wisdom tooth-thing is okay now, the humid heat is gone and I am starting to find my way through the area. The first classes were okay as well, I switched two courses because the one I wanted was full and I could not register anymore. I am glad to have a free Friday every week though! 3 days weekend for 20 weeks, sounds good to me 😉 Furthermore we went to some parties last weekend, and for the upcoming weekend we also have some events planned. And.. I might go on a hike on Sunday if the soju does not hit too hard on Saturday.. 😉
Laters!
